A drink in my hand, my snow up against the burning sand
Probably getting gorgeously tanned in Summerrrrr
Okay, so maybe some of you don’t get the reference to Disney’s “Frozen” – but most of you with little girls in their house will know these lyrics off by heart. I’ve seen it about 600 times this summerrrrrr already.
So with all that Summer stuff over, and Winter on the horizon, that bloody song popped into my head AGAIN… so today in the office we started having a chat about all the stuff we got up to over the past couple of weeks in The Fence! Time flies when your having fun. There is something about Summer-time and the-living-is-easy (or easier) because whatever shit you have flying at you, its a little less shitty when the birds are chirping, the sky is blue and you are have some pretty amazing cocktails, refreshing and with cute little umbrellas and pretty poka dot straws!
One of our highlights was the Pop-Up Mojito Bar we had on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. A mojito isn’t just a Summer drink.. its THE Summer drink. The drink remains firmly in the realm of the warm weather refresher.
We also had some gorgeous G&T cocktails, the mixture of gin, lime and tonic are so intense,
Put them together it just makes sense! Putting taste aside, the cocktail also contains tonic so while your getting your buzz on, your also getting your Quinine intake.
When life gets rough, I like to hold on to my dream
Relaxing in the Summer sun, just lettin’ off steam
We loved our Despacito cocktail.. Los Altos Tequila, Creme de Mure, Agave Syrup, Cranberry Juice, Lime Juice and Fresh Raspberries. This cocktail was shakin’ as much as the song was danced to all Summer. Even though that song is actually more annoying than Disneys “Frozen in Summer” song – the cocktail was pretty amazing!
We enjoyed some really great music too – Smash Hits, Abuse Your Illusions, Fergal D’arcy, Project Guest DJ, Good Man Sheila, Dec Byrne and the Djam.
Our cocktail club every Friday was a huge success. This will continue every Friday night with 5 euro cocktails from 7pm – 12pm with live music in the front cocktail bar.
We have lots of new and exciting things coming up for The Fence for Autumn/ Winter. New cocktail menu, some new bands, Octoberfest, Halloween and Christmas (do you want to build a snowman?!) events.
(Winter’s a good time to stay in and cuddle
But put me in summer and I’ll be a happy snowman!) ….sorry, still can’t get it out of my head
Chat to you all soon 🙂
